2012 Dobbins Creek Vineyards Harvest
2012 was a good year for us, our traffic and sales were both up and we had an outstanding harvest. To give you reference 2011 produced about 14 tons of grapes off of (4) acres of vines in production. However; in 2012 we produced 26 tons off of (4) acres, our best harvest yet. In addition to the great harvest, it is definitely some of the best fruit we have ever produced. We are looking forward to producing some great wines with this fruit. The 2012 Riesling that is in the tank, waiting to be bottled later this spring, might just be the best Riesling we have ever made. The 2012 Merlot and Cabernet Franc are both, over the top, but they just need barrel time before they are ready to bottle. We are especially excited with our crop of Cabernet Sauvignon, that will take some time to be ready around Spring of 2014. (Great Cabs take a little while longer to age properly.)
We’re really looking forward to some great wines and inviting you to come and try them. Great wine, great views, equals a great time.
So long for now and hoping to see you soon!
